Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home is the most recent chapter in a 158-year history of funeral service in Rhinebeck. The tradition began with Carroll Furniture and Undertaking, the first business to operate in what is now the Battistoni Real Estate office building. Later, Mr. Henry Cornelious established Carroll and Cornelious Funeral Service, followed by the Dapson Funeral Home, Inc. In 1995, the funeral home returned to the site of the original Cornelious Funeral Service.

Today, Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home features comfortable chapel spaces accommodating both small and large families, seating for more than 100 guests, a children’s entertainment room, ample off-street and on-street parking, and well-stocked merchandise rooms—all conveniently located under one roof.

The funeral home proudly serves families across the greater Rhinebeck area, including Milan, Red Hook, Tivoli, Clinton Corners, and Staatsburg. While the funeral home previously shared ownership in Peck & Peck Funeral Homes in Pine Plains and Copake, it now focuses solely on providing compassionate, personalized service throughout the Rhinebeck region.
