Rosemary Joan Albrecht
Rhinebeck - Rosemary Joan Albrecht, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at her home in Rhinebeck surrounded by her loving daughters.
Born on May 4, 1939 in Kingston, NY; she was the daughter of the late Francis and Mary (O'Neill) McDonough.
She graduated from Kingston High school in 1957.
On June 1, 1957, Rosemary married Matthew Henry Albrecht at the St. Mary's Church in Kingston, NY. Mr. Albrecht passed away on April 23, 2012 in Rhinebeck.
Rosemary worked as a manager at IBM for over 25 years in both the Kingston and Poughkeepsie locations.
She and Matthew previously lived in Hurley, NY for 25 years before moving to Rhinebeck.
Rosemary enjoyed playing bridge and was a Bronze Life Master. She was a member of the Poughkeepsie Bridge Club and was one of the founding members of the Rhinebeck Bridge Club where she taught many how to play the game. For over 10 years Rosemary served on the Board of Directors of The Woods community in Rhinebeck where she lived. She and Matthew were one of the first homeowners in the community which they loved.
She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Albrecht of Las Vegas, NV; Jean Nelson of Dallas, TX; and Diane Mahar and her husband James of Ballston Spa, NY as well as her beloved dog Oscar. She was predeceased by two sisters, Ann Fuller and Eileen Whitney, both of Kingston, NY.
Calling hours will be held at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 W. Market St., Rhinebeck, NY on Monday, May 8, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 AM at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 9, 2017.
Burial at the Rhinebeck Cemetery will be held at the convenience of the family.
