Anne Moehle Hauser
Rhinebeck - Anne Moehle Hauser passed away at the Baptist Home in Rhinebeck on January 15, 2017, just three days after celebrating her 96th birthday at The Terraces. She waited for her cake! She had been a life-long resident of Queens until moving to Rhinebeck following her first hip replacement. She made many friends at The Terraces and attended Catholic Services every Wednesday in the Chapel at the Baptist Home.
Born January 12, 1921 to William Ziegler and Florence Rock, Anne attended Julia Richmond H.S. and began working as a bookkeeper following graduation. Bookkeeping, however, lacked an audience so she switched to sales at the Steinway Bakeshop. Anne could slice a baguette, hold it in her left hand and dunk it into the bag on her right. Her customers loved it as did Emil Moehle, the young bread baker in the back. They were married in 1941 and remained so until his death thirty years later. She married again in 1978 to Edward Hauser and survived him as well.
Anne is survived by her children Anne Ferrara, William Moehle, daughter-in-law Beverly Moehle, four grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and step-daughters Margie, MaryAnn, and Anna May.
Anne will be interred with Emil at Calvary Cemetery in Queens, NY later this spring at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, 51 West Market Street, Rhinebeck.
